Louella Golden Guillet (Acra) 1916 - 2006

Lou Acra (1916-2006)

July 1997

Mountaineer Echo Newspaper Week of January 26, 2006 issue: Mrs. Louella GOLDEN GUILLET, age 89, died Thursday, January 5, 2006. She was born October 11, 1916 in Middletown, Ohio, the second oldest of seven children to Walter ACRA and Nellie STAPLES. She graduated from Middletown High School in 1934. She retired in 1968 as a secretary with Monsanto Chemical in Miamisburg, Ohio and moved with her husband Ross GUILLET, to Lakeview Arkansas. She was a hospice Volunteer, helped found and was a Volunteer for the Baxter County Arkansas Library and wrote a newspaper column for the Lake River Times in Bull Shoals, Arkansas for several years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ross in 1995; her parents; sisters, Meredith PECK, and Jan BACK; and her brother, Milton ACRA. Mrs. GUILLET is survived by her son; four stepdaughters; one brother; two sisters; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

She was born Oct 11, 1916 in Middletown, Ohio to Charles and Nellie Ruth Staples Acra.  Second of seven children.  I always knew her as Grandma Lou and until I was 8 or 9, I did not know she was a step grandma.  Though she was not my biological grandmother, I always thought of her as such since she married my grandpa before I was born.  She sent letters often (always typed).  She was one of the nicest people you'd meet.  She was married in Sep. 1934 to Milan Alexander and had a son, James Alexander (last known to me living in Virginia in 2007), from that marriage.  They were divorced in 1947.  She married my Grandpa Ross Guillet April 24, 1964

Lauretta Elizabeth Guillet (Monroe) 1913 - 1963

1938
Lauretta Monroe was born April 10, 1913, the fourth and last child of Frank Forest and Dorothy Phillips Monroe, in Mt. Vernon, Ohio.  1913 was a year long remembered because of flooding caused by heavy rains in the Ohio River Valley.

Lauretta (Laurie or Rett) enjoyed a normal childhood, probably pampered because she was the youngest child and only girl.  She participated in sports and loved to go fishing.  Following high school she entered Western Reserve University School of Nursing and graduated in 1935.

She worked hospital, private duty, and clinical nursing, and several summers as a camp nurse at Ho Mita Koda (a camp for diabetic children).  It was at camp that she met Ross Guillet.  They were married August 13, 1938.

She was the proud mother of four daughters (Dorothy, Linda, Jane and Sally) who reflected her loving care and interest.  Camping with her family was a great joy.  She was involved with the Red Cross and Church activities.

Lauretta was diagnosed with brain cancer.  She is not in the video of Linda's wedding September 1962 she was mostly hospitalized in her final year of life.  My father describes her battle with cancer very difficult.  She succumed to cancer in Ohio Februaury 27, 1963 after a long hard fight.

It has never been pursued as far as I know but her husband worked with Polonium for years and I wonder if there was a connection to her cancer.  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Polonium#Toxicity

George Herbert Potts

George Herbert Potts was born July 31, 1878 in  Manchester, England (a less reliable account states he was born in Yorkshire).  His parents were Edward Potts and Sarah Ackroyd.  George studied Civil Engineering at Cambridge University in England. George was married Dec 26, 1903 in Bolton, Lancashire, England to Mary Yates  They had one child, Lucy Yates Potts.  George left Mary.  He came to the United States by way of Canada.

While working as an engineer on a crane explaining what needed to be done, he fell.  He was badly injured and was hospitalized.  While in the hospital he met Lydia Stone Hoyt.  They were married.  Berry Vernon, son of Lucy Yates, records the date of George's marriage to Lydia as May 3, 1909.  George and Lydia's daughter in law, Wilda, told me the marriage was not legal and writes that George was not a US citizen ans that it caused Lydia to need to be "repatriated in October 1943 in Toledo, Ohio."

They had four children:  Herbert Jay Potts born in Denver, Colorado Aug 19 1910,  Ada Margaret Kinsella (Potts) born in Cleveland, OH August 10 1906, Elsa Wallace Florian (Potts) born Sep 6, 1913.  and Wallace Potts Hoyt (Hoyt Potts) born in Norwalk, Ohio March 17, 1917.

George died of Tuberculosis July 4, 1942 in Green Springs, Ohio.

W. Frank McCallister 1890 - 1981

My great grandfather (Grampy Mac) Frank McCallister (Born William Frank Ferguson) was the son of Melvina Peters and William Ferguson.   He was their fourth son. He was born October 4, 1890 in Ohio.  Older brothers Roy and Claude and younger brother Charles.  His mother died giving birth to a girl.  Melvina's sister, Ida Mae (Peters) McCallister,  and her husband, Delman McCallister took in Frank to raise.  Though he changed his name to McCallister, he was never legally adopted.  His brothers never forgave him for changing his name.
Frank taught school.  Later he moved to Flint, Michigan where he worked at Buick #4 and met Bernice Roach.  They were married June 14, 1916.
Frank tried to start  Cosmetics Company in Flint under the name of Puritas Labs.
Frank and Delman went into farming and bought farms in partnership totally 220 acres.
Frank had his first daughter Wilda March 13, 1913. Twelve years on June 28th they had their second child, Joyce.  Both daughters were born at home.
They sold the farm in 1967 and moved to a place on Hugo Street in Maumee, Ohio.   In 1976 they moved to Ashland, Ohio with Wilda and her husband.  A year later they moved to a house in Lexington, Kentucky purchased by Joyce.
Frank died January 20, 1981 at the age of 91.
I remember visiting with him in the 70's.  Mostly I rememeber him sitting in his arm chair eating from a bowl of candy.

Bernice Marie McCallister (Roach) 1892 - 1988

My Great Grandmother "Grammy Mac," daughter of Lydia Caley and Edward Docherty, was born in   1892.  After Docherty left the family Lydia the married Ed Roach.  Ed adopted Bernice and her name was legally made Bernice Roach.  Bernice had two half siblings from Ed and Lydia:  Mildred and Glenn (both died prior to 1983).  She also had 11 half siblings from Docherty and Rose Watz whom she most likely did not know.
Bernice married Frank McCallister on June 16, 1916.  They lived with Frank's parents for the first six months but Bernice and Franks mom, Ida, did not get along.  They had a daughter, Wilda, March 3, 1918.  They bought a farm in Ohio with Frank's dad.  June 30, 1930 they had their second daughter, Joyce.
Bernice and Frank sold the farm in 1967 and moved to Hugo St, Maumee, Ohio.    In 1976 they moved to a duplex in Ashland with Wilda and her husband living in the other half.
In 1977 Bernice moved into a house in Tennessee bought by Joyce.  Her husband, Frank, died January 20, 1981.  Joyce transferred to Florida and Bernice followed and moved into a retirement home in Kissimee.  She passed away in at age 93 on 24 Jan 1988.

Ross Alexander Guillet 1910 - 1996

Ross > Linda > Brue > Lillian

Ross Alexander Guillet was born in Linden Heights, Franklin County, Ohio on February 27, 1910 according to many accounts though one version of the birth certificate states 1909.  Ross states the dept of health Certificate to be in error.   There was also a mix-up on the given name discovered during an FBI security check.  One account stating his first name Alexander and the other Ross.  He went by Ross Alexander Guillet his whole life.

His parents were Edward and Louise Guillet.

Boy Scouting was a consuming interest that continued into his twenties. Ross was awarded the Honor of Eagle Scout Nov 12, 1925.  Ross went to Shaw High School in Cleveland, Ohio (graduated 1928?).   He went college at Western Reserve University in Cleveland and The University of Alabama.   It was a boy scout connection made possible a job with Dr. Henry John at his camp for diabetic children: NoMita Koda in Newbury, Ohio (1938).

While at the camp he met Lauretta Monroe. They were married August 13, 1938.  They had four daughters: Dorothy December 5 1939, Linda (Mar 30, 1941), Jane July 14, 1943 and Sarah Nov, 21 1946.

Ross worked in Chemical and Biological fields at the Cleveland Clinic and Trojan Powder in Oak Ridge, Tennessee.  His final employment from the early forties through the late sixties was at Mound Laboratory (Monsanto).   The Monsanto Company of Miamisburg, Ohio was recruited by General Leslie Groves of the Manhattan Project in 1943 to produce Polonium for the atomic bomb.  Trojan was also a military nuclear endeavor.

In February 1963 while in Miamisburg, his wife died of cancer.

With grand children Brue Hoyt and Sarah Dougher 1969
He later married Louella Acra, who also worked at Monsanto, April 24, 1964.  Lou and Ross both retired from Mound Labs in July 1970 and moved to Lakeview, Arkansas.  The house was situated over the White River (famous for Trout fishing) where he fished daily.  They had large gardens and a small home with a screened in back porch and attached garage.

My most fond memory of my Grandpa Ross was him giving me wheel barrow rides down the dirt road past the sunflower garden by his house near Bull Shoals Arkansas.  He made the best smoked trout - I have never found anything close.  He loved to watch birds.  I remember staring at the humming birds feeding in his back yard.  I always remember him with a pipe in his mouth (a contributing factor in his death to cancer).

He passed September, 18 1996 in Mountain Home, Ark.

In 1942 they moved to Lakeside, Ohio while Wallace worked at Danbury High.  She had her second son, Willard, while here April 23, 1943.  Wallace left Danbury and they moved into grandfather's house (  I don't know which - possibly George Potts).
She moved to Toledo when Wallace was hospitalized and worked for Willys Jeep and lived in an appartment in Rossford.
In an attempt to help with the war effort they moved to Spokane, Washington.  Wallace's mom, Lydia,  came with them.  To find work they moved to Seattle.  They lived in  a boarding house until they could buy a house in the Lake City  development.  Wilda worked at Markey Machinery.  She had her third child Norreen Bernice,
They sold the house at Lake City and bought a house just outside Bellvue.  When Wallace went o the hospital for a "nervous breakdown," one of many times, they sold the home to pay for the bills.  They drove back to Ohio and stayed with her sister in law Elsa's family while Elsa was in the hospital.
When Wallace got a job in Loudoville, they found an apartment on U.S. 3 ner Shreve.  Later they moved to a duplex in Loudonville.  When the duplex owner's sold the home, Wilda's parents helped them buy a partially finished house.  She held a preschool in the basement from 2 years and in 1951 started a kindergarten.  In the summers she worked for recreations and crafts for girls.  She also took in ironings and cleaned house for people.  She was on Welfare and aid often during the years her husband was hospitalized.
She began working as a secretary in Loudonville High School part time and in 1953 went to full time. They stayed thereuntil Sean graduated from Loudonville in 1959.   When Wallace got a teaching job at Maume High School in 1959, Wilda took a secretary job there.  They lived in a garage apartment until they bought a house on Anderson in Maumee, Ohio.  In 1961 she has a hysterectomy because of a tumor.
In 1963 they sold the house on Anderson to build in a new development on Anderson.  They moved in spring.
In summer 1965 she went to New York when Wallace had a fellowsip in Oneanto, NY.
In 1976 Wilda and Wallace moved to Ashland, Ohio to a split home with her parents.  She retired in September 76.  Her parents moved to KY in 1977 and Wilda and Walace moved to a Duplex in Ashland.  Wallace died there.
In August 1980 almost a year after her husband died, Wilda moved to Middletown, Ohio near Noreen and her family.  From October '80 through June 83 she work as a house mother for the Delta Zeta sorority at OSU.  After 5 years there, she left to open the new Phi Mu sororuty at Indiana University.    After two years she left to be closer to Noreen's family again.  She worked as a house mother for TPA soroity at UC.  She retired for good june, 1992.
Wilda bought a house at 1928 Erie St.  in Middletown, Ohio.  She lived there in retirement until her death from cancer Saturday January 24, 2009.  She had visited every capital in the US.  She spent her retirement traveling with Noreen, serving at her church, Episcopal Church of Southern Ohio, and visiting with family.

Wallace Potts Hoyt 1916 - 1979

1948
Wallace > Sean > Brue > Lillian

Born Wallace Hoyt Potts  1916 to George Herbert Potts and Lydia Stone Hoyt.  Wallace's parents separated in 1928.  He lived with his father but for an unknown reason at some point he couldn't live with his father and moved in with United Brethren minister Rev Jaynes and wife in Norwalk, OH.  His mother could not support him.  He worked and saved and earned a Club scholarship to go to Ohio State University in pre-law in 1934.  He was a page in the Ohio Senate while going to school.  He had a nervous breakdown in 1937 and moved in with his sister Elsa and her husband Howard Florian.  He would suffer from mental disorder the remainder of his life.  He returned to school the following year in Education.   He met Wilda McCallister at school Dec. 1938.  Their first date was the play Shadows and Substance by Sean O'Casey.  Wallace changed his name to Potts Hoyt after he met Wilda but before they were married.   The name change was "partly because he thought it would be more of an advantage as a teacher" according to his Wilda.  It is also speculated that it was because of differences with his father.  They married Dec 16th, 1939 at the Olentangy Village apartments.  Their families did not attend the wedding.  He finished school in 1940.  He majored in Social Studies (history) with a minor in English (speech).  Wallace and Wilda lived in a rooming house on 8th Ave.  near OSU while he worked in the dorms.  While they were expecting their first child, Sean (b. Feb 1941), they moved to an apartment on Frambes Ave.  that belonged to a college professor, Frances Jones, who had been a great help to Wallace in the college speech dept.
He got a job teaching English in Orwell, OH.  They lived in the old town hall next to the school with no running water except a pump in the kitchen.  He worked at Heckler Dairy in the summers.  Since the owners of the town hall apartment only rented it in the fall through spring and lived there in the summers Wallace and Wilda stayed summers elsewhere.   Once with his brother Herbet, once over a restaurant, once in a summer cabin at Heckler's beach.  He made $1200 a year teaching.  He was laid off in 1942.
1974
They moved to a rental in Lakeside Ohio when he got a job teaching at Danbury High School.  Wilda writes "Wallace and a friend, Willard Bird, tried to enlist in Merchant Protection Service."  I believe she meant the Coast Guard.  For what ever reason he was not accepted.  With the US at War he and Willard enlisted in the Navy.  His second son, Willard Wallace Hoyt, was born April 23rd, 1943.
Wallace left his Job at Lakeside in hopes of leaving for the service.  With no job they went to live in grandfther's house who according to Wilda "died in 1943 and property wasn't settled" (Sean's grandpa? Wilda's grandpa Ferguson?).  He took a job at Jeffrey Motors.  While there he had another breakdown.  He committed himself to Toledo State Hospital.  As a result he was not allowed to accept his military appointment.  He was in the hospital from July to Dec 1943.  While in the Hospital his Mother stayed with Wilda and the kids. When he got out he took a job Chevrolet Transmission Plant in Toledo.  He left this job in June to move to Spokane, Washington  (1944) because (according to Wilda) he wanted to help the war effort.  When he couldn't get a job there, he moved to Seattle and worked for Boeing aircraft in material control as an expeditor.  After living in a boarding house for a while they bought a house Lake City Development.  His Daughter Noreen was born in 1945.  When the war was over and many Boeing employees were laid off.  Wallace's mother died in Nov. 1945 and was buried in Acacia Cemetery.  Wallace worked there a couple weeks and they sold the house in Lake City and bought a smaller house with an acre of land  in Belllvue, WA.
Wallace got a job as n insurance adjuster in Sep 1945.  (The order of dates don't make sense to me but this is the way Wilda wrote it)   After being on the road for "a while" he was promoted to head of the department.  In 1947 Wallace had another "nervous breakdown"  he was "let go" in June, 1947.  He went to a private Hospital in the care of Dr, Wirth.  They had to sell the home to pay the bills.  They drove back to Ohio in July, 1947.  They stayed with his sister Elsa's family while she was in the hospital having surgery for cancer.  After this he attained a teaching position in Loudonville, Ohio.  They rented an apartment in Loudonville on US 3 near Shreve.  They soon moved to a duplex owened by the Henleys.
Wallce had his fourth "nervous breakdown'.  The hospitalizations are for schizophrenic episodes.  He was removed from the home this time while his eldest son watched on.  He was in Columbus State Hospital form Jan to Feb 1948.  After this he worked at Wander in Wooster.  After a fifth episode he was hospitalization from June, 13th through July 22nd (again at CSH) he got a job at "Flxible" in Sep 1948.  No sooner than he started he was hospitalized again October 24th to Dec 7th and was "released" from Flxible.  Between this and his next hospitalization he worked at Sohio.  From Apr - May 50 he was again hospitalized.  The Henleys sold the house to Don Kick so the Family had to move.
Wilda's parents put a down payment on a partially finished house and loaned money to Wallace to finish it.   I think this was the home in Loudonville, OH.  Wallace was back in the hospital yet again from October 7th through December 21st, 1950.
Upon getting out of the hospital he took a job with Cooper Bessemer in Mt. Vernon.  Again he was back in the hospital from April 2nd to May 1, 1951.  Over the years his treatment included insulin and shock therapy.  The family was often on welfare and Wilda worked many jobs to cover family expenses during the years Wallace was hospitalized.
Next, Wallace worked at Borg-Warner in Wooster.  Again he was sick.  This time Dr. Benjamin Kovitz recommended a new drug, Reserpine.  It worked and this is the last mention of hospitalization for Wallace for mental illness.
In addition to the nervous breakdown in '37, Walace was hospitalized in '43 (5 months), '47 (one month),  '48 (3 times for a total of 5 months),  '50 (twice for a total of 3 months), '51 (one month) and his final breakdown (undated btween 51 and 53) marked his final time.
After this he took a job with Kallmerten & Baier cement in Mansfield as a bookkeeper.  In 1957 he took a job with Bellville High School as a teacher and coach of plays.   During Summers he went to OSU to get his Master's in Guidance.
In 1959 he started teaching at Maumee High School.  They bought a house in Maumee on Anderson Ave.  He finished his Master's in 1961.
He sold the house on Anderson to buy land and build in a new development also on Anderson in 1963.   This is the earliest home where I remember visiting my grandpa.

In 1976 Wallace and Wilda moved to Ashland, Ohio to a lot that had two homes connected by a central garage with my great grandparents.  I remember thinking how add the split homes were and that my grandparents and my great grandparents were next door.  1964 or 65 he started working as a guidance counselor for Penta County Vocational School. Wallace retired in 76 with a hearing disability.  Wilda's parents moved to Lexington, KY in 1977 and Wallace and Wilda They moved to a duplex in Ashland.
November 15, 1979 Wallace died in his sleep of "emphysema and heart disease."
I know form being in his vicinity that he snored louder than anyone else I have ever met (his son Sean being an impressive snorer also).  He also smoked a lot and was very overweight.

From as early as I can remember until his death I visited with him, went on annual camping trips and holidays, went to the Toledo Zoo and Cleveland Indians games with him.  He always had a hearing aid in one ear and a transistor radio in the other with baseball on.  I have many letters to the editor he wrote about how the Tribe could improve.

Most of the information in this post is from a document typed by Wilda Hoyt.

Linda Lauretta Guillet 1941 - 2010

2. My Mother is Linda Lauretta Guillet, daughter of Ross and Lauretta Guillet. She was born March 30, 1941. She was born in Cleveland and grew up in Miamisburg, OH. She was the second of four girls. She attended a Methodist church growing up and often as an adult. She worked as a lifeguard in high school and college. She started college at the University of Cincinnati where she met Sean Hoyt. They were married in September.  They were in Cleveland, Schenectady, NY (Where she had her first child, Laurie), Cleveland again where I (Brue) was born, Youngstown, OH and finally 721 Lewis Seiffert Rd, Hubbard, OH 44425. While in Hubbard she had her third child, Robin, and finished her degree at Youngstown State University. After receiving her BSN she worked at Crittendon Home with young mothers. In 1972 she adopted her fourth child, Karla (b. 30 Oct 1971).  Sean left her in 1979.  She began work at Heritage Manor Jewish nursing home in Youngstown in the late 70's. In December 1982 she moved the family to 100 Westview in Hubbard closer to the school so the kids could walk to school.   In 1986 she remarried George O'Neil.  They lived in his house for a month before buying a home together on Grandview Ave, Hubbard. The marriage lasted seven months. Linda bought a house at 118 fifth Ave. Hubbard (1987). Linda had many joyful times in her life but she dealt with struggles one day at a time for most of her life. As a result she left her job at Heritage Manor and moved to Virginia Beach to start a new life by the Ocean. She missed home and family and possibly had trouble living one day at a time alone so she returned to Ohio (~1993). She resumed working  to Heritage Manor.  After renting in Liberty, OH for a few years, she bought a house in Mill Creek Park in 1996 (532 Glacierview Dr. Youngstown, OH 44509) near her youngest daughter's house  In 2003 she retired from Heritage manor at the age of 62.  She spent her retirement in the park with her dog, traveling with her sisters and visiting with her children. Her entire life she loved Christ, animals, outdoors, fitness and gardening. On June 23rd 2010 she passed away in her home.

Brue McCallister Hoyt 1967 -

2006

1. My name is Brue Hoyt. I was born August 12th, 1967 in Cleveland, OH. My parents are Sean Hoyt and Linda Guillet. They traveled in Europe for their honey moon.  My mom heard the name Brue while in the south of England.  There is a river Brue and a surname Brue that appears in this area.    I have an older sister Laurie 1966, younger brother Robin 1969, and younger sister Karla 1971. I moved to Youngstown, OH in 1968. The family moved to Hubbard, OH in 1969. I lived at 2631 (formerly 721) Lewis Seiffert Rd. until the end of Middle School. I was involved in Cub Scouts, Indian Guides, Baseball, swimming and 4-H. My parents separated in 1978. In 1982 we moved to 100 Westview Ave. I worked as a Lifeguard and swim instructor.  I was in the Band, on the Swim team, Track team and Cross Country team. One week after High School I joined the Army (1986) and was stationed in Birmingham, Alabama. At the end of Basic Training I went to Medic School in San Antonio Texas. At the end of my training I moved in with my mom and her new husband in Hubbard. I worked nights at a Sohio gas station. In April 1987 I started school at Ohio State University. I lived in Lincoln Tower, 17th floor. This was a bad living situation. The following summer (1987) I lived with my mom, now separated, on 118 Fifth Ave. in Hubbard and worked at Lorel's park life guarding.   I returned to OSU and lived in Bradley Hall (87-88) which was a much better place. At first I worked at Wendy's. Later I started working at OSU swim pools (Jan 88).
I again worked at Lorel's and lived with my mom on 5th Ave. in the summer 1989.  I went back to school early to be close to a girlfriend.  Her father promised me a great job that turned out to be me working a lot for a little money.  I lived with my friend Aaron Phelps and his family in Grove City. When the school year (88-89) started I moved to 81 E. 8th Ave 43201.   It was not the best fit for me.  I continued to work at OSU pools over the summer.
2010
The 89-90 school year I moved to 2197 Indiana Ave.   I stayed here several years.  Midway through the year I left OSU pools unhappy.   I returned to Wendy's only to leave in less than a week when I was
hired at a full service Shell station.  I loved that job.  I was doing poorly in school.  At the end of the school year Operation Desert Storm began.   I was called to active Duty December 6th.   I went to Richmond VA and then on to Ft Eustis Va. where I spent the duration of Desert Storm working in an Army hospital.  I returned to Columbus, Shell and OSU in July 91.   In '92 I left Shell and returned to OSU pools.   I chose to get a degree in French (not a great choice for me).  I met Amanda Watson at Army Reserve training early '93.   I finished my service obligation in Dec, 93. I graduated from OSU in June 94.  I took a job selling used cars at Budget Car Sales. I did not like this. In Feb. '95 I started as a shift manager at Pizza Hut in Grandview which I enjoyed very much.  While there I was offered a teaching position.  I Taught French and Phys Ed at Learning Unlimited for five years. It required teaching summer school as well. Because I was single and pay was low I continued t work part time for Pizza Hut the first year of teaching.  Sept. '94 I moved in with Amanda '89 W. Patterson 43202.  Her friend Karin moved in mid year. We then all moved to 2241 Indiana Ave.  Jan '96 I moved back into 2197 Indiana Ave. In June 1996 I bought 1528 Aberdeen Ave Columbus, OH.  In 1996 I began following Christ.  I was engaged to Amanda.  Amanda got a Dog (Genni) and moved it in with me.   June 1997 I moved out of
1997
my house and in with Christian Friends on King Ave while Amanda moved into
my house to get out of a bad living situation with her friends. We were married July 26, 1997. In 2000 I started a new job teaching 4th grade at Xenos Christian schools. I enjoyed this for 4 years. The 5th year was hard due to differences between me and the system as to how children should be taught. While there I had various summer jobs.  One summer I didn't work.  Nov 2, 2002 we bought 2466 East Ave. 43202 where we still live. April 13th, 2004 Lillian Jane Hoyt was born. At the end of the following school year I left teaching to stay at home with Lily. It was at this time I realized I was 30 pounds over weight with aching joints and unable to run far.  I started running and a couple years later doing triathlons.   Eleanor Watson Hoyt was born Dec 8th 2006. I went back to school in 2007 in Education at Ashland University.   Our dog, Genni, died in 2009.  I coached High School track at CCS for 2 seasons.   I received my teaching certificate from Ashland University in Pre K through 3rd grade with endorsements for 4th and 5th.  I started my Master's program at Ashland.  I substitute taught for a year before getting hired to teach a 4/5 split at Columbus City Schools.  I often subbed at Indianola where the kids go to school.  I was alos the PTO secretary and classroom volunteer there.  I first taught at Sullivant Elementary and now am at Maize Elementary.  I am now 46 years old.  I ran the Columbus Marathon this year in 3:24:02.
