Linda Lauretta Guillet 1941 - 2010

2. My Mother is Linda Lauretta Guillet, daughter of Ross and Lauretta Guillet. She was born March 30, 1941. She was born in Cleveland and grew up in Miamisburg, OH. She was the second of four girls. She attended a Methodist church growing up and often as an adult. She worked as a lifeguard in high school and college. She started college at the University of Cincinnati where she met Sean Hoyt. They were married in September.  They were in Cleveland, Schenectady, NY (Where she had her first child, Laurie), Cleveland again where I (Brue) was born, Youngstown, OH and finally 721 Lewis Seiffert Rd, Hubbard, OH 44425. While in Hubbard she had her third child, Robin, and finished her degree at Youngstown State University. After receiving her BSN she worked at Crittendon Home with young mothers. In 1972 she adopted her fourth child, Karla (b. 30 Oct 1971).  Sean left her in 1979.  She began work at Heritage Manor Jewish nursing home in Youngstown in the late 70's. In December 1982 she moved the family to 100 Westview in Hubbard closer to the school so the kids could walk to school.   In 1986 she remarried George O'Neil.  They lived in his house for a month before buying a home together on Grandview Ave, Hubbard. The marriage lasted seven months. Linda bought a house at 118 fifth Ave. Hubbard (1987). Linda had many joyful times in her life but she dealt with struggles one day at a time for most of her life. As a result she left her job at Heritage Manor and moved to Virginia Beach to start a new life by the Ocean. She missed home and family and possibly had trouble living one day at a time alone so she returned to Ohio (~1993). She resumed working  to Heritage Manor.  After renting in Liberty, OH for a few years, she bought a house in Mill Creek Park in 1996 (532 Glacierview Dr. Youngstown, OH 44509) near her youngest daughter's house  In 2003 she retired from Heritage manor at the age of 62.  She spent her retirement in the park with her dog, traveling with her sisters and visiting with her children. Her entire life she loved Christ, animals, outdoors, fitness and gardening. On June 23rd 2010 she passed away in her home.

Brue McCallister Hoyt 1967 -

2006

1. My name is Brue Hoyt. I was born August 12th, 1967 in Cleveland, OH. My parents are Sean Hoyt and Linda Guillet. They traveled in Europe for their honey moon.  My mom heard the name Brue while in the south of England.  There is a river Brue and a surname Brue that appears in this area.    I have an older sister Laurie 1966, younger brother Robin 1969, and younger sister Karla 1971. I moved to Youngstown, OH in 1968. The family moved to Hubbard, OH in 1969. I lived at 2631 (formerly 721) Lewis Seiffert Rd. until the end of Middle School. I was involved in Cub Scouts, Indian Guides, Baseball, swimming and 4-H. My parents separated in 1978. In 1982 we moved to 100 Westview Ave. I worked as a Lifeguard and swim instructor.  I was in the Band, on the Swim team, Track team and Cross Country team. One week after High School I joined the Army (1986) and was stationed in Birmingham, Alabama. At the end of Basic Training I went to Medic School in San Antonio Texas. At the end of my training I moved in with my mom and her new husband in Hubbard. I worked nights at a Sohio gas station. In April 1987 I started school at Ohio State University. I lived in Lincoln Tower, 17th floor. This was a bad living situation. The following summer (1987) I lived with my mom, now separated, on 118 Fifth Ave. in Hubbard and worked at Lorel's park life guarding.   I returned to OSU and lived in Bradley Hall (87-88) which was a much better place. At first I worked at Wendy's. Later I started working at OSU swim pools (Jan 88).
I again worked at Lorel's and lived with my mom on 5th Ave. in the summer 1989.  I went back to school early to be close to a girlfriend.  Her father promised me a great job that turned out to be me working a lot for a little money.  I lived with my friend Aaron Phelps and his family in Grove City. When the school year (88-89) started I moved to 81 E. 8th Ave 43201.   It was not the best fit for me.  I continued to work at OSU pools over the summer.
2010
The 89-90 school year I moved to 2197 Indiana Ave.   I stayed here several years.  Midway through the year I left OSU pools unhappy.   I returned to Wendy's only to leave in less than a week when I was
hired at a full service Shell station.  I loved that job.  I was doing poorly in school.  At the end of the school year Operation Desert Storm began.   I was called to active Duty December 6th.   I went to Richmond VA and then on to Ft Eustis Va. where I spent the duration of Desert Storm working in an Army hospital.  I returned to Columbus, Shell and OSU in July 91.   In '92 I left Shell and returned to OSU pools.   I chose to get a degree in French (not a great choice for me).  I met Amanda Watson at Army Reserve training early '93.   I finished my service obligation in Dec, 93. I graduated from OSU in June 94.  I took a job selling used cars at Budget Car Sales. I did not like this. In Feb. '95 I started as a shift manager at Pizza Hut in Grandview which I enjoyed very much.  While there I was offered a teaching position.  I Taught French and Phys Ed at Learning Unlimited for five years. It required teaching summer school as well. Because I was single and pay was low I continued t work part time for Pizza Hut the first year of teaching.  Sept. '94 I moved in with Amanda '89 W. Patterson 43202.  Her friend Karin moved in mid year. We then all moved to 2241 Indiana Ave.  Jan '96 I moved back into 2197 Indiana Ave. In June 1996 I bought 1528 Aberdeen Ave Columbus, OH.  In 1996 I began following Christ.  I was engaged to Amanda.  Amanda got a Dog (Genni) and moved it in with me.   June 1997 I moved out of
1997
my house and in with Christian Friends on King Ave while Amanda moved into
my house to get out of a bad living situation with her friends. We were married July 26, 1997. In 2000 I started a new job teaching 4th grade at Xenos Christian schools. I enjoyed this for 4 years. The 5th year was hard due to differences between me and the system as to how children should be taught. While there I had various summer jobs.  One summer I didn't work.  Nov 2, 2002 we bought 2466 East Ave. 43202 where we still live. April 13th, 2004 Lillian Jane Hoyt was born. At the end of the following school year I left teaching to stay at home with Lily. It was at this time I realized I was 30 pounds over weight with aching joints and unable to run far.  I started running and a couple years later doing triathlons.   Eleanor Watson Hoyt was born Dec 8th 2006. I went back to school in 2007 in Education at Ashland University.   Our dog, Genni, died in 2009.  I coached High School track at CCS for 2 seasons.   I received my teaching certificate from Ashland University in Pre K through 3rd grade with endorsements for 4th and 5th.  I started my Master's program at Ashland.  I substitute taught for a year before getting hired to teach a 4/5 split at Columbus City Schools.  I often subbed at Indianola where the kids go to school.  I was alos the PTO secretary and classroom volunteer there.  I first taught at Sullivant Elementary and now am at Maize Elementary.  I am now 46 years old.  I ran the Columbus Marathon this year in 3:24:02.
