July 1997

Mountaineer Echo Newspaper Week of January 26, 2006 issue: Mrs. Louella GOLDEN GUILLET, age 89, died Thursday, January 5, 2006. She was born October 11, 1916 in Middletown, Ohio, the second oldest of seven children to Walter ACRA and Nellie STAPLES. She graduated from Middletown High School in 1934. She retired in 1968 as a secretary with Monsanto Chemical in Miamisburg, Ohio and moved with her husband Ross GUILLET, to Lakeview Arkansas. She was a hospice Volunteer, helped found and was a Volunteer for the Baxter County Arkansas Library and wrote a newspaper column for the Lake River Times in Bull Shoals, Arkansas for several years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ross in 1995; her parents; sisters, Meredith PECK, and Jan BACK; and her brother, Milton ACRA. Mrs. GUILLET is survived by her son; four stepdaughters; one brother; two sisters; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

She was born Oct 11, 1916 in Middletown, Ohio to Charles and Nellie Ruth Staples Acra.  Second of seven children.  I always knew her as Grandma Lou and until I was 8 or 9, I did not know she was a step grandma.  Though she was not my biological grandmother, I always thought of her as such since she married my grandpa before I was born.  She sent letters often (always typed).  She was one of the nicest people you'd meet.  She was married in Sep. 1934 to Milan Alexander and had a son, James Alexander (last known to me living in Virginia in 2007), from that marriage.  They were divorced in 1947.  She married my Grandpa Ross Guillet April 24, 1964
