Elizabeth Munson was born in in Canada about 1842. Her parents were also born in Canada and are listed as English descent. She married George Evo and had her first 4 children in Canada before moving to New York. In New York she had her 5th child about 1868. They moved to Michigan and she had 2 more children. My ancestor Lydia was her last child Oct 1871 before her husband died the following year 1872. She passed away 11 Feb 1875 in Tuscola, Mi. See George and Lydia for more details.

George Evo (1828 - 1872)

I learned of George Evo in 2014. I was under the belief that my great great grandma Lydia was born into the Caley family. She always used that name before marriage She lists her last name as Caley on both 1st and 2nd marriage licenses. Additionally she lists the Caleys as her parents throughout her life. In the 1880 Census she is listed as Elizabeth L. Caley, the daughter of Thomas Caley.
Ronda Wickham - a descendant of Lydia's first husband EJ Docherty and his second wife Rose- sent a wealth of great info about Lydia that filled in a a lot of gaps for me. She placed Lydia as the daughter of the Caleys. Then Murray Richardson, a descendant of Lydia's (with her second husband Ed Roach) sent some research he found. He places Lydia as the daughter of the Evos.
My Grandmother told me she was not sure what Lydia's last name was.
George was born in Ontario, Canada around 1928. His parents were Thomas and Jane (Clement) Evo. He is listed as English descent on census records. Murray Richardson says he and Jane were of French origin. My father also says he thought his grandma, George's grand daughter Bernice was French. My dad can not remember any specific reason for her saying she was french. George was a farmer. He was married in Canada to Elizabeth Munson and moved to New York in 1862/3 and then the Detroit Michigan area between 1867 and 1869. In the 1870 Census he has 6 children listed: Eliza A (b. 1859/60 d. 30 Jan. 1881), George H (b. 1862), Mary J. (b. 1863), Ellen (b. 1865), John (b. 1868), and Albert (b. 9 Nov. 1869 Tuscola, MI). Lydia was born 18 Oct 1871 after the 1870 Census.
George died August 20, 1872. His wife died in 1875. His children were cared for by others.
The 1880 Census provides clues for most descendants of George and Elizabeth. Eliza may have been adopted by James and Eliza Clothier. George Evo (Jr.) was living with 74 year old farmer Henry Haskins and wife and listed himself as a farm laborer. Mary J. was adopted by Jesse Kelley (42) and wife Experience (40). I cannot find Ellen. John is listed as a boarder with Wm. Defoe (age 64) and his wife Margaret A. (60) and daughter (23). Albert was living with 70 year old Polly Ritter. I cannot find Lydia Evo. She is likely Elizabeth L Caley (8), and is listed as the daughter of Thomas and Sarah Caley.
There is a birth record for Lydia Evo with George as her father. The 1900 Census lists Lydia Roach (maiden name Caley) with the same birth month. No birth record was found for Lydia Caley. Lydia Caley was married to EJ Docherty and lists her name as Elizabeth Caley. When Lydia was married to Ed Roach she lists her maiden name as Lydia Caley. Both certificates list Thomas and Sarah as her parents. When her second daughter, Mildred, (first child with Roach) died, her son listed Lydia's maiden name as Evaux.
The biggest problem I have is no mention of Lydia Evo in 1880 census. In 1880 Elizabeth L. is listed as a daughter (no adoption mentioned) of Thomas and Sarah Caley with birthplace MI and parents birth listed as Isle of Mann.
This could simply mean that Evo legally became Caley. Parent origin and other info is filled in based on what is stated not proven, so the Caleys may not have even realized they should have listed birth parents origin rather than their own.
It appears that Lydia was the biological daughter of George and Elizabeth Evo. I am 90% sure. 10% leaning Caley.
If the Evos are her parents I am on the fence as to whether they were French or English.

John Green
Son of Joseph and Elinor Brown Green was married to Esther Glick at Stanton, Isle of Mann, on October 2, 1834. They resided on Queen St. in Castletown where he was a cabinet maker. He had ten children christened as follows-

Alexander Guillet
Alexander Guillet (1843-?) was born in France. He married Adelaide Abbott. They moved to the US and lived in Boston, MA. He had five children Rose (named after her Grandmother), Victor, William, Edward Henry Guillet (b. 1874), and Eugenie.

James Edward Roach 1870 - 1840
Ed Roach born 1872 in Michigan married Lydia Caley 26 Feb 1896 in Tuscola, Michigan. He adopted Lydia's daughter Bernice (My great grandma). They had two more children:
