Edward (also known as Edmond and E.J.) Docherty born Aug., 1870, Canada (also known as Edmond and E.J.) (name on 1890 US census as Edwin Docherly) was born in 1869 in Michgan. His father Thomas Docherty Edward's father was Thomas Docherty and his mother was Mary Recknor/Racknor. Thomas and Mary came to the US from the Isle of Mann.
He married Elizabeth (Lydia) Caley 1896. They had a daughter Bernice Irene in 1896.
He left Lydia and Bernice. Why he left is unknown.
He then married Rose Watz on March 26, 1896 in Deerfield Township, Lapeer County, Michigan. and had 11 children with her

Formerly the family's name was spelled Daugherty and likely came to the Isle of Mann from Ireland. Edward and Rose's biological grand daughter, Ronda (Johnson) Wickham (daughter of Caroline), was able to piece together the missing and errant details. Info above is from her work.
